    Belgian designer Kris Van Assche studied at Antwerp’s esteemed Royal Academy of Fine Arts, before moving to Paris in 1998. He worked on menswear with Hedi Slimane at Yves Saint Laurent and at Dior Homme before becoming the latter’s chief designer. In 2007 Van Assche launched his eponymous label that includes collections for both men and women. His simple, elegant designs reference the past but are strikingly modern all the same – they take in neat, precise tailoring with a subtly avant-garde edge.
