    London-based Start is regarded as the quintessential East End boutique. The pioneering retailer of the city’s once-shabby-now-hip Shoreditch triangle, Start is the creation of husband and wife team Philip Start and Brix Smith-Start. Philip previously ran the successful Woodhouse menswear stores while Brix played guitar in influential British rock band The Fall. Start’s personality, unique buying style and eclectic design have ensured its rise to become a landmark in the area - there are now three Start shops in one street, selling both women’s and men’s designer fashion.

    Gloverall have been producing duffle coats for over 50 years, starting in a London factory close to St Paul's Cathedral. Gloverall garments are still made in England to this day. Having taken a large batch of ex-Navy surplus stock following World War Two, Gloverall created their own market and the duffle coat enjoyed a boost in popularity. Demand soared and Gloverall were forced to start manufacturing their own duffle coats from scratch. Gloverall have been featured in nearly every major publication from Elle to The Independent.
