William “Billy” Reid hails from Louisiana which influences his brand of low-fi Southern-bred luxury. Starting his career at Saks Fifth Avenue Billy moved to Reebok International before deciding to launch his own fashion design and marketing company in 1995.
Billy launched his first collection in 1998 and shortly after was forced to relocate to Florence, Alabama. Struggling to bring back his collection Billy began to build stores for his work reflecting his aesthetic. This was successful and in 2008 the New York flagship store opened and was voted Best Men’s store by New York Magazine.
