London-based, Greek-born designer Mary Katrantzou’s first two collections have already garnered a huge level of attention, from both press and buyers. Snapped up by just a handful of influential boutiques, the SS09 collection demonstrated the textile design graduate’s creativity with colour and digital print. Oversized trompe l'oeil jewellery is printed on vividly coloured shift dresses to produce pieces that sit somewhere between pure fashion and art. Katrantzou looks sure to become a far more familiar name.
