    My favourite place in Florence has always been my grandfather's atelier. He studied at Florence's Academy of Fine Arts and had this amazing studio overlooking the Arno river. It was a creative meeting point, where artists and literates would meet.

    Without a doubt, The Picture Of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. I found this book in my mother's library and it has always fascinated me. The novel is about the image of a man, rather than about the man himself.

    Top vacation spot:

    Capri is one of my favourite holiday meccas, it is also the place where my husband and I gathered with all our friends and family for our wedding this last summer!

    You can never be overdressed or overeducated.

    A member of one of the Emirates' pre-eminent families, Mohammed Sultan Al Habtoor began making a name for himself at an early age, appearing on television and in the media, and known for his individual style statements. Originally trained at the UK's Royal Military Academy Sandhurst where he was commissioned as an officer, he went on to serve five years in the national army of the UAE during which time he also gained degrees in Marketing and Political Sciences. As a creative director, Mohammed launched a sometimes controversial pop up t-shirt label, House of glaMO, specialising in thought provoking slogans that gently poke fun at local political issues and the fashion industry, with the proceeds directed at various charities. Nowadays, its not just slogan t-shirts that keep Mohammad busy, he also spends much of his time in New York, Milan and Paris where he collaborates and has endorsements with various brands. Back in Dubai he recently launched MANSAM6, a company that specialises in luxury food products.

    Designer Begüm Khan, who is Shanghai based but born in Istanbul Turkey, spent her childhood surrounded by rare and beautiful objects, brought up in a family of Ottoman art collectors. Now designing menswear, Begüm studied in both Istanbul and Milan before heading East along the ancient Silk Road to China to complete a Master’s Degree at Shanghai’s Fudan University. Inspired by both the rich design heritage of Turkey and that of her new Chinese home, in 2012 she launched her own brand Begüm Khan that now sells is some of the world’s most prestigious stores.

    Favourite haunt in your home city:

    I love dinner parties. If it isn't at my house in Istanbul then I love being at the city’s Soho House, which is like a second home to me.

    The Beautiful Fall by Alicia Drake. It’s a tale of a bygone era when everything seemed permitted without concern, and that gave rise a wonderfully decadent and creative crowd.

    Texas-based Natalie Lefevre is originally from the idyllic island of Mahe in the Seychelles, her father being of French descent and her mother German. A gifted singer and performer, Natalie’s career has been as colourful as her exotic background, having been a beauty queen, a model, a business TV presenter and an accessories designer, as well as scoring a number one hit in Germany in 2013. These days Natalie is heavily involved in charity work, triggered initially by the devastation that the tsunami wreaked on her native Seychelles islands in 2004, a cause to which she has given her on-going support.     A native of Shanghai, Chaoqiu He is a jewellery designer with a family background in jadeite trading. She was brought up to have an understanding of how to use precious stones and of the qualities of traditional Chinese jadeite artisans. Her design philosophy is focused on hand crafting individual pieces to give them a wealth of detail, texture and form, using only the most exquisite stones. And she works closely with her individual patrons to ensure the pieces are the result of careful collaboration. Chaoqiu’s work and sketches have been shown at jewellery events and exhibitions across China and beyond.
