Schwarzhogerzeil is located in Berlin's Mitte district on the bustling Torstrasse. The layout of the incredible 150 m² space was conceived by interior designer Sylvester Koziolek. Koziolek has continued with the interior concept of the first two stores and combined 1940s Parisian charm with modern elements including neon lighting and eccentric furniture.

The first Joseph store opened in 1972, underneath Joseph Ettedgui’s hairdressing salon. After enlisting the aesthetic help of Norman Foster, the first flagship store opened on Sloane Street in 1979. Today Joseph has expanded to over 100 sites internationally, with stores in London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Los Angeles. The interior of every store is reflective of it’s clothing range; minimalistic, clean lined and with a subtle monochrome colour scheme.
